AAJLJ Mourns Passing of Board Member Debra L. Feuer
December 16, 2024

The American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (AAJLJ) mourns the passing of Debra L. Feuer, our friend and board member.

Some of us knew Debra from the American Jewish Committee, where she served as Counsel for Special Projects at the Office of Government and International Affairs. She was well known for her advocacy supporting Israel’s quest for peace and security.

We were therefore thrilled when Debra accepted our invitation to join the AAJLJ Board of Governors. She was an active member of the board, not only regularly attending seminars and our Pursuit of Justice awards reception, but also advising on strategy, posing thoughtful questions, and writing and editing letters.

Debra had a brilliant mind, got to the essence of an issue quickly, and articulated her position forcefully whether in oral or written argument. Her knowledge of first amendment law and international law, as well as of Israel and the Middle East, was extensive. We were honored to learn so much from her.

We send our deepest condolences and prayers for healing to Debra's beloved family: her husband, Marvin; her children, David, Rachel, and Danny; her grandchildren, Ella, Sam, Eli, Eden and Gabriel; and her siblings, Linda and Michael. May her memory be a blessing. She will be sorely missed.
