American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (AAJLJ) announces 2023 Pursuit of Justice Award Recipients

On May 10, 2023, the Annual Pursuit of Justice Awards will be held at The Whittemore House in Washington, D.C.

Washington, DC, April 19, 2023: On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 6:00 pm EDT, the American Association of Jewish Lawyers & Jurists (AAJLJ) will host its annual 2023 Pursuit of Justice awards at The Whittemore House, home of The Woman’s National Democratic Club, in Washington, D.C. The AAJLJ’s annual Pursuit of Justice Award is presented to distinguished jurists and attorneys who exemplify the Biblical dictate, “Tzedek, tzedek tirdof,” “Justice, justice shall you pursue.” This award is given to America’s top jurists; past recipients include U.S. Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan, and Stephen Breyer, Justice Aharon Barak, Attorney General Robert Abrams, Stuart Eizenstat, and former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey.

 


This year, the AAJLJ will present its Annual Pursuit of Justice Awards to three incredible honorees: Eli M. Rosenbaum, The United States Justice Department’s Counselor for War Crimes Accountability; Akiva Shapiro, Chair of Gibson Dunn’s New York Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice Group; and Janis B. Schiff, Partner, Chair of Retail Development and Leasing Practice at Holland & Knight.
